- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ (³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ) and Antioch University Midwest (AUM) have joined in partnership to increase access and affordability to a four-year college education by establishing 3+1 pathway options for students.

- Community turns out for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Adams County Campus meeting
- The boards of Adams County Ohio Valley Schools and ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ co-hosted a Community Meeting Nov. 17 to further explore the possibility of a Southern State campus adjacent to ACOV’s central administrative office and career and technical center.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet November 17
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Ohio Valley Career & Technical Center.
- ACOVS & ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ to co-host Nov. 17 community meeting
- The boards of Adams County Ohio Valley Schools and ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will host a Community Meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ band to perform Nov. 13 Veterans Day concert
- The Southern State Community Band will honor our nation’s veterans with a Veterans Day concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ welcomes Mongolian folk band Oct. 19
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will welcome the Mongolian folk band AnDa Union 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet October 12
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 12 noon Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Community Room on the college’s Brown County Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents ‘The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe’.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre will present Jane Wagner’s “The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe” on Nov. 4 and 5 (at 7:30 p.m.) and on Nov. 6 (at 3:30 p.m.) in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.

- Local H.S. students saved more than $2.1 million on college tuition at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ
- More than 52,000 Ohio high school students took college classes during the 2015-16 academic year, earning college credit while meeting their high school graduation requirements and collectively saving more than $110 million on college tuition.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ info sessions for ITT students affected by closure
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is hosting two special information sessions for students who were affected by the recent closure of ITT Technical Institute.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet September 14
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Room 303 of the college’s North Campus.
- The Cleverlys kick off ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Americana Music Series
- The Cleverlys, a self-proclaimed “GrassHipPop Fusion” band, will headline the inaugural concert in the new ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Americana Music Series. This kick-off event will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ practical nursing program celebrates pinning ceremony
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s practical nursing class was honored during a special recognition ceremony held Aug. 11 on the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
August 2016
- Boedeker sworn in as Southern State trustee
- At the Aug. 24 meeting of the ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees, Fayette County Probate Court Judge David B. Bender presided over the swearing in of trustee Doug Boedeker who was reappointed by Gov. John Kasich.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre announces auditions for fall production
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre will hold auditions for the Nov. 4-6 production of Jane Wagner’s “The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.”
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet August 24
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 12 noon Wednesday, Aug. 24, in the Community Room on the college’s Fayette Campus.
July 2016
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ launches 22+ Adult H.S. Diploma program
- In launching its new 22+ Adult High School Diploma program, ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is aiming to help the more than 700,000 working-age adults in Ohio who haven’t yet graduated from high school.
- Open House on July 27 at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s campus in Wilmington
- The public is invited to an open house event from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s North Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ July 22-24
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents Christopher Durang’s “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” playing at 7:30 p.m. on July 22 and 23, and at 3:30 p.m. on July 24 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
June 2016
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Student Government awards 2016 scholarship
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation is pleased to award the 2016 Student Government Association (SGA) scholarship to Amanda Payton of Washington C.H., a second-year student at Southern State.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s engineering co-ops pair students with businesses
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s new co-op tracks in Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Electrical/Electronics Technology and Electro-Mechanical Engineering pair students with local business partners in an alternating rotation of learning and working.
- PD donation supports Fayette County ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ students
- Using proceeds from its annual calendar sales, the Washington C.H. Police Department presented a donation for $1,500 to the ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation.
- Something new for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre’s 13th season
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre’s 13th season brings something completely different to the table. This year, the fall production will consist of a totally female cast, while the spring production will be all male. Come summer 2017, the sexes once again join forces for a wild and romping musical.

- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 12 noon Wednesday, June 15, at First State Bank.

- Boedeker reappointed to ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees
- Gov. John Kasich has announced the reappointment of Doug Boedeker to the ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees. Boedeker, of Washington Court House, was selected to serve a second six-year term, ending May 11, 2022.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Medical Assisting, Allied Health programs celebrate graduation
- A special celebration was held April 20 to honor graduates of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s medical assisting and allied health programs.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Engineering Co-ops pair students with businesses

- Phi Theta Kappa expands ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ students’ opportunities
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will conduct its Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society new student member induction ceremony 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, on the college’s Brown County Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Band to hold April 24 concert in Hillsboro
- The Southern State Community Band will present its annual Spring Concert 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet April 13
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Community Room of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Brown County Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Fayette to host community art show
- The annual National Library Week Art Show will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the Community Room on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Fayette Campus.
March 2016
- POW Camp presentation set for April 13 at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Wilmington
- A history of Wilmington’s World War II Prisoner of War (POW) Camp will be presented 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the library of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s North.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ welcomes Mediterranean folk band April 6
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will welcome Mediterranean folk band Baladino at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The concert is free and open to the public.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ to host Alternatives to Violence event March 15
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will host a special presentation on “Rape Culture & Rape Myth” by Chanda Valentine, an Alternatives to Violence speaker, from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet March 17-18
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and 9 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the offices of Ohio Association of Community Colleges.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ earns continued accreditation
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ has earned continued accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the organization tasked with accreditation responsibilities for post-secondary institutions in the central United States.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ appoints new Vice President of Academic Affairs
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ has appointed Dr. Nicole Roades as Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents “The Great Gatsby” April 1-3
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre will present “The Great Gatsby” at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium.

- Governor supports community colleges as Ohio’s key to affordable education
- In Governor Kasich’s 2016 Mid-Biennium Review (MBR) unveiled Monday, making college more affordable remained a top priority.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ events address sexual violence and harassment
- As part of the Campus SaVE (Sexual Violence Elimination) Act, ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ will present the documentary “It Was Rape” at all four campuses, followed by a question-and-answer session with counselors.
- Financial Aid info event Feb. 14 at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is hosting "College Goal Sunday" 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the college's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.
- Sarbach awarded ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Debbie Ewing Memorial Scholarship
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ student Shana Sarbach was named the first recipient of the newly established Debbie Ewing Memorial Scholarship during the recent graduation ceremony for the college’s respiratory care program.

- A one-hour Lunch-and-Learn presentation of “Stretching Your Educational Value” will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Respiratory Care celebrates graduation
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s ninth graduating class in the respiratory care program was honored during a Dec. 12 ceremony on the college’s Fayette Campus in Washington Court House.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre holding Jan.15 auditions for "The Great Gatsby"
