- The Adult Opportunity Center (AOC) at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is offering a January orientation in basic academic skills, GED preparation, and college readiness.

- U.S. Bank contributes to ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation
- U.S. Bank has been a significant contributor to Southern State, exceeding $16,000 in donations and resulting in numerous scholarships to Southern State students.
- Carey to visit ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ to discuss business/education grant partnership
- Chancellor John Carey of the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) will visit ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Monday, Nov. 23, to lead a roundtable discussion with RAPIDS Grant partners to discuss funding awarded to the region.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ band to perform Nov. 22 Veterans Day concert
- The Southern State Community Band will honor our nation’s veterans with a Veterans Day concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet November 18
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 12 noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the Community Center of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Fayette Campus.
- Free CMT Concert at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ/Hillsboro on Nov. 12
- Country Music Television is coming to ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ in Hillsboro for a free concert featuring Carly Pearce who recently was recognized as one of CMT’s 2016 Next Women of Country.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ students invited to Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit
- Two local college students have been invited to attend Propel Ohio, hosted by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio. Propel Ohio is an Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit to be held Oct. 16 at The Ohio State University Student Union.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents "Becky’s New Car" Nov. 6-8
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre will present "Becky’s New Car," at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, and a matinee at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on the Central Campus of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.

- The cadets of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Basic Peace Officers Training Program were recognized at a special ceremony held August 13 at the college’s Fayette Campus in Washington Court House.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet August 19
- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, in the Community Room on the college’s Brown County Campus, 351 Brooks Malott Road, Mt. Orab.

- Learn. Work. Repeat. That’s the essence of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s new Engineering Co-op Track which pairs students with local business partners.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, has been recognized regionally for highest profile completion on PTK’s scholarship website.

- Lynchburg-Clay High School graduate Tyler Allen has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.

- Fairfield High School graduate Joey Wilson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.
July 2015
- Earn an ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ degree in 18 months with new evening accelerated program
- With ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s new accelerated associate degree programs, students can spend just two nights per week in class—and finish in 18 months.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ offers new six-weekend Real Estate program
- A new accelerated program in Real Estate will be offered at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ beginning in September.
- Upcoming info sessions for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ programs
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is hosting informational sessions for several of its technical programs which are offered at both campus and offsite locations. The info sessions are being held at the locations where those programs are offered. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 24 and registration is now underway.
- Wallace named keynote speaker for July 20-23 education conference at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ
- Dr. Teri Wallace has been named the keynote speaker for the seventh annual education conference, "Building Bridges," which will be held July 20-23, 2015, at Southern State Com-munity College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.
- Southern State announces new GED site in West Union
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ announces the opening of a new GED preparation site in West Union. Beginning in August, the college’s Adult Opportunity Center will offer its GED prep classes from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the West Union Church of Christ on 270 Lloyd Road (across from the high school).
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Adult Opportunity Center holds recognition celebration
- Area residents who passed the General Education Development (GED) test were honored

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is seeking comments from the public about the college in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre will present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, and a family-friendly lite version at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on the Central Campus of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.

- Whiteoak High School graduate Tyler Williams has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.
- Sellars signs Letter of Intent to play ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Basketball
- West Union High School graduate James Sellars has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.
- Clark signs Letter of Intent to play ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Basketball
- Blanchester High School graduate Braxton Clark has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ to host early childhood education conference
- The seventh annual early childhood education conference, "Building Bridges," will be held July 20-23, 2015, at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive in Hillsboro.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is proud to announce the recipient of the Joyce E. Fender Memorial Scholarship for 2015. The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation presented the award to Rhonda Kidder of Hillsboro.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ awards Hillsboro Elks Scholarship to Maverick Ward
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is proud to announce the recipient of the Hillsboro Elks Scholarship for 2015. The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation and the Hillsboro Elks presented the award to Maverick Ward, a 2015 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ awards Wilson/Paeltz Memorial Scholarship to Haley Meranda
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is proud to announce the recipient of the Dylan Phillip Wilson and Nathan Paeltz Memorial Scholarship for 2015. The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Foundation presented the award to Haley Meranda, a 2015 graduate of Georgetown High School.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Associate Degree Nursing program celebrates graduation
- Forty-two graduates of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s Associate Degree Nursing program were recognized during a recent pinning ceremony at the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ instructor wins state nursing educator award
- A nursing instructor with ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ has been awarded the Excellence in Practical Nursing Education Award from the Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNE) at the state conference in March.
April 2015
- Dr. Randall to deliver ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ commencement address
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is pleased to announce Thomas Randall, M.D., has been selected to deliver the commencement address for the college’s 40th graduating class. Commencement will begin 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, in The Patriot Center on Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.
March 2015
- De Bruin, Prickett, Rudduck sworn in as ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ trustees
- At the March 18 meeting of the ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees, Clinton County Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Rudduck presided over the swearing in of Brian De Bruin, Brian Prickett, and Kyle Rudduck, whose appointments fill the final vacancies on the college’s board.

- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Respiratory Care celebrates graduation
- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s ninth graduating class in the respiratory care program was honored during a recent ceremony on the college’s Fayette Campus in Hillsboro.
- Fifteen complete Southern State’s practical nursing program
- The 48th class of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ’s practical nursing program was honored during a special recognition ceremony held Dec. 11 on the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
