³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Theatre presents "Othering"- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ's Theatre Department presents the world premiere of "Othering," by the College's own Rainee Angles, Professor of Theatre/Speech, playing April 4-6 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday matinee will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Southern State Announces New 5-Week Fiber Optic Course- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is excited to announce the launch of a 5-week Fiber Optic course, designed for individuals of all skill levels, that will equip students with the essential skills needed to pursue a career in the rapidly growing field of fiber optics.
Apply for the Choose Ohio First Scholarship at Southern State to receive Free Education- The Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship application is now available to first-time students who plan to attend ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ this fall. Choose Ohio First is part of a strategic effort to strengthen Ohio's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) scholars and industry leaders.
³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet February 19- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19 on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The board will consider resolutions to use sale proceeds for capital improvements, to authorize the president to explore an alternative utility easement option, and to authorize the closing document signatures.
Application Deadline Announced for ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Nursing Program- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ has announced February 28 as the deadline for applications to the ADN Program (traditional pathway, five semesters). Additional completed applications will be accepted until June 2, as seats become available. It is encouraged to apply early to secure your place in the program.
Southern State offers Streamlined Teacher Education Pathways- Interested in teaching elementary or middle school students? What about high school students? Maybe specializing in Career Technical Education or Intervention Specialist? ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is now offering concentrations in Teacher Education to support the shortage of quality educators in our region - and at a fraction of the cost of a 4-year institution. These innovative pathways are designed to provide students with the academic foundation for various teacher licensures and hands-on experience that will enable them to transfer to four-year institutions and obtain teacher licensure quicker.
Southern State to offer FAFSA Walk-in Clinics during February- February is Financial Aid Awareness Month. To celebrate, Southern State will host FAFSA walk-in clinics on Wednesday afternoons throughout the month aimed at helping current and prospective students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming academic year.

Fall Semester scholarship application opens February 1 at Southern State- Students enrolled, or planning to enroll, at ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ for the Fall Semester, which begins in August, can benefit from various financial resources to help offset the cost of a college education.
Southern State Announces Human and Social Services Faculty Member- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is pleased to announce Patricia Beach, of Wilmington, as the new full-time faculty member for the Department of Human and Social Services (HSSR). Beginning Spring Semester, which started January 13, Beach transitioned from a part-time faculty member to full-time status.
Southern State Announces Honors Lists for Fall Semester- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ has released its President's List and Dean's List for academic excellence for Fall Semester 2024.
Southern State Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence in Higher Education- ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ is proud to announce its 50th anniversary. Over the past five decades, the College has honored its mission of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality education to students in the region.
³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees to meet January 16- The ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16 on ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ's Central Campus, Room 347, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro for their regular Board meeting. The board will enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing the purchase or sale of property.
